Artistic Leadership

Artistic Director—Megan K. Pence
Megan is thrilled to serve as the Artistic Director of Girl Friday Productions and carry on the legacy of this great organization. Megan served as a member of the Girl Friday Board of Directors from 2022-2024, and was appointed by the board as the Artistic Director of Girl Friday Productions in 2025.
Megan is an accomplished director/actor/arts administrator. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Lakeshore Players Theatre in White Bear Lake, and previously held the position of Director of Administration for the Commonweal Theatre in Lanesboro, Minnesota. Megan's favorite directing credits include: Misery, Calendar Girls (Lakeshore Players Theatre); The Clean House, An Iliad, Mary's Wedding, Good People, The Elephant Man, A Christmas Carol (Commonweal Theatre); 9 to 5 (GREAT); and Witch & Marie Antoinette (Florida State). Favorite acting roles include Heidi in What the Constitution Means to Me (Lakeshore Players); Henrietta Leavitt in Silent Sky (Commonweal); and Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest (Florida State). Megan holds her MFA in Directing from Florida State University, and a BS in Theatre Education from Bradley University.

Founder—Kirby Bennett
Kirby, along with Natalie Diem Lewis, founded Girl Friday Productions in 2004; she served as producer/actor at that time. Kirby was appointed Artistic Director by the Girl Friday Productions’ Board in 2011. Her accomplishments for Girl Friday include producing and performing in all eight of their acclaimed productions since 2005. Three productions were staged at Park Square Theatre, as part of their Theatre in Residence program, which offered new venues and built new audiences for Girl Friday Productions.
As an actor Kirby has appeared at numerous local and regional theatres including productions at the Jungle Theater: Noises Off! and Blithe Spirit; Park Square Theatre: The Left Hand Singing, The Triumph of Love, Noises Off!, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, The Women and The Diary of Anne Frank; Frank Theatre: The Visit, Good Person of Setzuan, Love and Information; History Theatre: Peace Crimes; DalekoArts: Middletown; Zephyr Theatre: Comedy of Errors; Theatre Unbound: Julius Caesar; Commonweal Theatre Company: Sylvia and Steel Magnolias; Red Eye Theatre: The Thugs and Potatoes of August; Minnesota Jewish Theatre: Women’s Minyan, Chaim’s Love Song, The Triangle Factory Fire Project, The Magic Dreidels, and Hanukkah Lights in the Big Sky; and Paul Bunyan Playhouse: Twelfth Night, Steel Magnolias, and Bus Stop. Kirby also has extensive commercial/industrial credits and holds a B.A. in Dramatic Arts from Macalester College.
